Gossiping for Communication-Efficient Broadcast
2022Byzantine Broadcast is crucial for many cryptographic pro- tocols such as secret sharing, multiparty computation and blockchain consensus. In this paper we apply gossiping (propagating a message by sending to a few random parties who in turn do the same, until the mes- sage is delivered) and propose new communication-efficient protocols, under ...

Cooperative transmission with broadcasting and communication
International Journal of Embedded Systems, 2013In this paper, we propose a novel cooperative transmission strategy with broadcasting and cellular communication in a hybrid network system. With the help of cellular base station (CBS), two cooperative schemes are analysed to improve hybrid network performance, which does not affect the original broadcasting signal.

Cooperative Transmission with Broadcasting and Communication
2012 Fourth International Conference on Intelligent Networking and Collaborative Systems, 2012In this paper, we propose a novel cooperative transmission strategy with broadcasting and cellular communication in a hybrid network system. With the help of cellular base station (CBS), two cooperative schemes are analyzed to improve broadcast performance. We define two thresholds in this paper.

Secure communication in IPTV broadcasting
The Journal of Supercomputing, 2011In internet protocol television (IPTV) broadcasting, service providers charge subscribing fee by scrambling the program with conditional access system (CAS) using control words (CWs). A smart card is used to decrypt the CWs and transfer them back to set-top box (STB) to descramble the scrambled program.

Broadcast Communications and Distributed Algorithms
IEEE Transactions on Computers, 1986The paper addresses ways in which one can use "broadcast communication" in distributed algorithms and the relevant issues of design and complexity. We present an algorithm for merging k sorted lists of n/k elements using k processors and prove its worst case complexity to be 2n, regardless of the number of processors, while neglecting the cost arising ...

Broadcasting buffering communication
Computer Languages, 1988A language is suggested for representing broadcasting buffering communicating (BBC) systems. In contrast to hand shaking communication following the rendezvous-concept the language describes loosely coupled communicating systems. Both mathematical and operational semantics are defined and several issues of the language are discussed.

Broadcast Authentication in Group Communication
1999Traditional point-to-point message authentication systems have been extensively studied in the literature. In this paper we consider authentication for group communication. The basic primitive is a multireceiver authentication system with dynamic sender (DMRA-code).
