Abstract Introduction Although fewer than 1% of pulmonary nodules are malignant, appropriate evaluation is essential in optimising patient outcomes. The 2017 Fleischner Society Guidelines provide recommendations on management of incidentally detected nodules; however, studies to date have shown variable guideline adherence.

Anthracofibrosis: an under‐recognised mimic of malignancy and tuberculosis in a migrant population
Abstract Anthracosis, usually regarded as a benign and uncommon bronchoscopic finding, was identified in 108 (9.9%) of 1154 bronchoscopy procedures at two Australian hospitals, with almost a third showing bronchial narrowing consistent with anthracofibrosis.

This study analyzed outcomes of an early Mollicute (Mycoplasma hominis and Ureaplasma spp.) screening protocol using BAL PCR with preemptive treatment and ammonia monitoring in lung transplant recipients. This appears to be a practical and reasonably effective approach for preventing early Mollicute infection and hyperammonemia syndrome.
