Synthesis, modification, and chlorhexidine loading of polymer modified‐HM‐HAP particles: In vivo antibacterial analysis and cell cytotoxicity assessment

open access: yesSmart Molecules, EarlyView.
This study presents the synthesis of hollow mesoporous hydroxyapatite (HM‐HAP) particles modified with different weights PEG and PEI. Chlorhexidine was loaded onto the particles. SEM analysis confirmed no significant morphological changes. Antibacterial activity was tested in vitro and in vivo using mouse oral bacteria, demonstrating promising results.

immunoHuMiX: A personalizable gut‐on‐chip model for unraveling human microbiome–immune interactions

open access: yesVIEW, EarlyView.
The study introduces a personalized gut model that brings together human immune cells and intestinal cells to better mimic how the body interacts with microbes. This system successfully maintained both human cells and a 17‐strain probiotic community, showing consistent immune responses across different donors.

Phenotypic Florfenicol Resistance in floR‐Harbouring Flavobacterium psychrophilum Isolates (CC‐ST90): A Case Study From Danish Freshwater Rainbow Trout Aquaculture

open access: yesJournal of Fish Diseases, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Monitoring antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in fish pathogens is essential for supporting sustainable aquaculture. In this study, susceptibility testing and genome sequencing were used to characterize the AMR profile of seven Flavobacterium psychrophilum originating from Danish rainbow trout farms (2019–2022).

Development of a Multiplex Quantitative PCR Assay for Simultaneous Detection of Multiple Vibrio Species in Aquaculture Samples

open access: yesJournal of Fish Diseases, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aquaculture associated Vibrio species are important bacterial pathogens causing significant economic losses in aquaculture and zoonotic infections in humans. Rapid and accurate detection of Vibrio species is therefore essential for diagnosis, surveillance and control.
