Exploring the links between Large Igneous Provinces and dramatic environmental impact

An emerging consensus suggests that Large Igneous Provinces (LIPs) and Silicic LIPs (SLIPs) are a significant driver of dramatic global environmental and biological changes, including mass extinctions.

Multi-Regge kinematics and the moduli space of Riemann spheres with marked points [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We show that scattering amplitudes in planar N = 4 Super Yang-Mills in multi-Regge kinematics can naturally be expressed in terms of single-valued iterated integrals on the moduli space of Riemann spheres with marked points.

Forecasting the effects of smoking prevalence scenarios on years of life lost and life expectancy from 2022 to 2050: a systematic analysis for the Global Burden of Disease Study 2021

open access: yesThe Lancet Public Health
Summary: Background: Smoking is the leading behavioural risk factor for mortality globally, accounting for more than 175 million deaths and nearly 4·30 billion years of life lost (YLLs) from 1990 to 2021.

30-day postoperative mortality and the effects of hospital preparedness during the COVID-19 pandemic: a pooled analysis of prospective international cohort studiesResearch in context

open access: yesThe Lancet Regional Health. Europe
Summary: Background: Surgical services were poorly prepared for the COVID-19 pandemic, leading to widescale disruption to elective activity. This study aimed to identify actionable priorities to strengthen pandemic preparedness of surgical and hospital ...

Deformed PP-waves from the Lunin-Maldacena Background

open access: yes, 2005
In this article we study a pp-wave limit of the Lunin-Maldacena background. We show that the relevant string theory background is a homogeneous pp-wave. We obtain the string spectrum. The dual field theory is a deformation of N=4 super Yang-Mills theory.

Subleading corrections to the Double Coset Ansatz preserve integrability [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In this article we compute the anomalous dimensions for a class of operators, belonging to the SU(3) sector of the theory, that have a bare dimension of order N. For these operators the large N limit and the planar limit are distinct and summing only the

Gravitational Radiation from Color-Kinematics Duality

open access: yes, 2018
We perturbatively calculate classical radiation in Yang-Mills theory and dilaton gravity, to next-to-leading order in couplings. The radiation is sourced by the scattering of two relativistic massive scalar sources with the dynamical effect taken into ...

Week 96 efficacy and safety results of the phase 3, randomized EMERALD trial to evaluate switching from boosted-protease inhibitors plus emtricitabine/tenofovir disoproxil fumarate regimens to the once daily, single-tablet regimen of darunavir/cobicistat/emtricitabine/tenofovir alafenamide (D/C/F/TAF) in treatment-experienced, virologically-suppressed adults living with HIV-1 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Darunavir/cobicistat/emtricitabine/tenofovir alafenamide (D/C/F/TAF) 800/150/200/10 mg was investigated through 96 weeks in EMERALD (NCT02269917). Virologically-suppressed, HIV-1-positive treatment-experienced adults (previous non-darunavir virologic ...

Comparative Analysis of Fungal Communities and the Key “Golden‐Flower” Fungi in Fu Brick Tea From Seven Chinese Regions and Their Effects on the Quality of Summer‐Autumn Tea

open access: yesFood Frontiers, EarlyView.
This study systematically investigated 52 Fu brick tea (FBT) samples collected from seven representative regions in China. High‐through put sequencing revealed that Aspergillus, Wallemia, and Candida were the predominant fungal genera across the samples.
