Lack of Lumpfish (Cyclopterus lumpus) Susceptibility to the Infectious Salmon Anaemia Virus (ISAV) Using In Vivo Challenges

open access: yesJournal of Fish Diseases, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Infectious salmon anaemia virus (ISAV) can cause disease and mortality in Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar). The virus is endemic in several regions including the Atlantic coast of Canada. Lumpfish (Cyclopterus lumpus) are increasingly utilised as cleaner fish to control sea lice levels in Atlantic salmon farms.

A long-term study of the impact of the invasive species Eurasian minnow Phoxinus phoxinus on brown trout Salmo trutta production in a high mountain lake, Southern Norway

open access: yesFauna Norvegica
The shallow Lake Skjerja was originally one of the most outstanding brown trout lakes on the Hardangervidda mountain plateau. During the period 1973–1985, the annual yield was on average 3.35 kg ha-1.

Beaver dam analogues increase amphibian breeding occupancy and bat activity

open access: yesRestoration Ecology, EarlyView.
Abstract Introduction Beavers are ecosystem engineers that can create ponds, increase stream complexity, and enhance biodiversity. To mimic these and other effects, restoration practitioners increasingly install beaver dam analogues (BDAs) in degraded streams.

Fluctuating densities of juvenile brown trout (Salmo trutta) and Alpine bullhead (Cottus poecilopus) over a 25-year period in the Atna River, Norway

open access: yesFauna Norvegica
Long term monitoring data from pristine or relatively unimpacted watersheds represent a valuable ecological baseline in the 21st century. Here, we present a 25-year time series of brown trout (Salmo trutta) and Alpine bullhead (Cottus poecilopus ...

AI‐Enhanced Semantic Feature Norms for 786 Concepts

open access: yesTopics in Cognitive Science, EarlyView.
Abstract Semantic feature norms have been foundational in the study of human conceptual knowledge, yet traditional methods face trade‐offs between concept/feature coverage and verifiability of quality due to the labor‐intensive nature of norming studies.

Migration in anadromous brown trout

open access: yes, 2016
This thesis investigates the anadromous migration of brown trout (Salmo trutta) with the overall aim to improve stock management within the region. Several field studies were conducted in different streams and coastal areas on the west coast of Sweden specifically aimed to evaluate environmental triggers for migration (Paper I), migration pathways and ...
