BRUCELLOSIS SEROPOSITIVITY IN SHEEP SLAUGHTERED AT SMALL RUMINANT SLAUGHTERHOUSE IN BOGOR REGENCY

open access: yesJurnal Kedokteran Hewan, 2018
Brucellosis is among the important diseases in livestock because the disease infects multiple species of animals and causes economic loss. Brucellosis in sheep is generally caused by Brucella melitensis and/or Brucella ovis.

BLOC1S1 Attenuates B. Melitensis 16M LPS‐Triggered Autophagy by Spatial Confinement of TDP‐43

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 45, December 4, 2025.
This study explores how B. melitensis 16M LPS and BLOC1S1 regulate autophagy in goat spermatogonial stem cells. The 16M LPS is activating AMPK‐dependent autophagy, increasing LC3B‐II/I ratios and lysosomal genes, while Escherichia coli LPS shows no effect.

Atypical Pediatric‐Onset Behçet's Disease Presenting With Superior Vena Cava Thrombosis in an Adolescent Male: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 13, Issue 12, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Behçet's disease is a chronic, relapsing multisystem vasculitis known for its highly variable clinical spectrum. We report the case of an 18‐year‐old male who presented with progressive headache and facial swelling. Imaging revealed extensive thrombosis involving the dural venous sinuses, superior vena cava, and left brachiocephalic vein ...

Drug Design and Delivery for Intracellular Bacteria: Emerging Paradigms

open access: yesDrug Development Research, Volume 86, Issue 8, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Intracellular bacteria exploit host cell niches, such as lysosomes, phagosomes, cytosol, entire cells, and even erythrocytes, to evade immune clearance and escape conventional antibiotics. These environments pose numerous therapeutic challenges, including crossing host cell membranes, navigating endosomal trafficking, tolerating acidic and ...

Brucellosis in the Head and Neck: A Forgotten Differential Diagnosis

open access: yesVan Tıp Dergisi
INTRODUCTION: Patients with brucellosis present with nonspecific symptoms originating from different organs. In this study, we aimed to investigate the symptoms related to the head and neck region in patients with brucellosis. METHODS: The retrospective

A Deep Metagenomic Snapshot as a Proof‐of‐Concept for Resource Generation: Simultaneous Assembly of Host, Food, and Microbiome Genomes From Stingless Bee Larval Food

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 12, December 2025.
This study serves as a proof‐of‐concept, demonstrating that deep shotgun sequencing of a single complex sample—stingless bee larval food—can simultaneously generate multiple genomic resources. From this dataset, we assembled three genomes (a near‐complete bacterium, a draft host mitochondrion, and a fragmented plant chloroplast) with varying ...

Estimating Environmental Transmission Risk From Host Movement Data

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 12, December 2025.
We present a comparative modeling framework that integrates host movement, pathogen persistence, and behavior to quantify environmentally mediated transmission. Using wild pig GPS data and SEIR simulations, we show that contact definitions significantly alter transmission dynamics, highlighting the importance of mechanistically defining indirect ...
