Responses of Bruguiera gymnorrhiza to saltwater monitored by miniature electrodes
Bioelectrochemistry, 2006We measured the voltage between two Ag/AgCl electrodes, one inserted into the seedling of the salt-tolerant plant Bruguiera gymnorrhiza and the other into the vermiculite in which the seedling was potted. Four seedlings were placed in different environments, in saltwater or pure water, with light or alternating light/dark conditions. We have found that

Genetic differentiation between Bruguiera gymnorhiza and B. sexangula in Sri Lanka
Hydrobiologia, 1999The identification of populations of Bruguiera sexangula, Bruguiera gymnorhiza and their putative hybrids in the field is difficult using only morphological and phenological characters. Using a PCR based technique, RAPD (Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA), the genetic variation of Bruguiera populations was studied from contrasting climatic and ...

A Gram-negative, non-motile, strictly aerobic, rod-shaped bacterium, designated as H12T, was isolated from the sediments of mangrove plant Bruguiera sexangula taken from Dapeng district, Shenzhen, PR China. The pairwise 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis showed that strain H12T shared high identity levels with species of the genus

[Compounds from marine mangrove plant Bruguiera sexangula var. rhynchopetala].
Zhongguo Zhong yao za zhi = Zhongguo zhongyao zazhi = China journal of Chinese materia medica, 2007To investigate the chemical constituents in Bruguiera sexangula var. rhynchopetala.Silica gel flash chromatography together with Sephadex LH - 20 were performed for the isolation and purification of the petrol ether fraction of this plant, and the structures were elucidated by spectral analysis as well as the comparison of the spectral data with those ...

Copper is an essential micronutrient for normal plant metabolism and it is involved in number of physiological processes in plants but at the same time, at concentrations above threshold level, it acts as a potential stress factor.

Gymnorrhizol, an unusual macrocyclic polydisulfide from the Chinese mangrove Bruguiera gymnorrhiza
Tetrahedron Letters, 2004Abstract Gymnorrhizol ( 1 ), an unusual novel macrocyclic polydisulfide possessing an unprecedented carbon skeleton, characterized by a 15-membered macrocycle that composed of three repeated 1,3-dimercaptopropan-2-ol units, has been isolated from the Chinese mangrove Bruguiera gymnorrhiza and its structure was determined by extensive ...

New Diterpenoids from the Marine Mangrove Bruguiera gymnorrhiza
Journal of Natural Products, 2004Phytochemical investigation of the stem of Bruguiera gymnorrhiza yielded three new ent-kaurane diterpenoids (1, 2, and 3) and one new ent-beyerane diterpenoid (4) together with nine known ent-kaurane diterpenoids. All structures and the relative stereochemistry of the new compounds were determined by NMR spectroscopic studies.
