Brushite in the pulp of primary molars

Journal of Oral Pathology & Medicine, 1989
This study was undertaken to investigate the mineral phase of spherulitic calcifications discovered in the pulpous mesenchyme of human primary molars by microradiography. Analytical scanning electron microscopy and x‐ray diffraction disclosed that well‐crystallized brushite is the major compound of the spherulites.

Reinforcement of osteosynthesis screws with brushite cement

Bone, 1999
The fixation of osteosynthesis screws remains a severe problem for fracture repair among osteoporotic patients. Polymethyl-methacrylate (PMMA) is routinely used to improve screw fixation, but this material has well-known drawbacks such as monomer toxicity, exothermic polymerization, and nonresorbability.

Brushit in Harnsteinen

1978
Spektroskopie bestatigt.

BRUSHITE IN FIBROUS DYSPLASIA OF THE JAW BONE

Acta Pathologica Japonica, 1987
Crystals associated with the maxillary bone in a case of fibrous dysplasia were investigated histopathologically, crystallo‐graphically and by infrared absorption spectroscopy. Light microscopically, the crystals showed a transparent and plate‐like appearance, and were revealed to be piled, incomplete monoclinic structures up to 250μm in size by ...

Effect of albumin on brushite transformation to hydroxyapatite

Journal of Biomedical Materials Research, 2001
Brushite (CaHPO(4) x 2H(2)O) is a precursor to hydroxyapatite [HA, Ca(5)(PO(4))(3)OH]. It has been shown that a modified form of brushite, with potassium substituting for calcium at specific sites, demonstrated accelerated transformation to HA when exposed to nonproteinaceous Hanks' balanced aqueous salt solutions (HBSS).

Mode of Occurrence of Brushite and Whitlockite in a Sialolith

Journal of Dental Research, 1981
A micro-focus X-ray diffractometer was applied to a ground section of sialolith, and localization of brushite and whitlockite was found. The sialolith was composed of a central core of organic material and a layered cortex of mineral components. The major component of the mineral cortex is apatite.

Preparation of hydroxyapatite by the hydrolysis of brushite

Journal of Materials Science, 1987
The conversion of brushite (CaHPO2 · 2H2O; DCPD) into hydroxyapatite (HAp) by hydrolysis has been studied by separating the conversion process into two stages, i.e. the structural change of DCPD into HAp (1) and the subsequent compositional increase in Ca/P ratio of the HAp (II).

Experimental study of brushite precipitation

Journal of Crystal Growth, 2004
Abstract A systematic approach was developed for the synthesis of orthophosphates in the laboratory. A set of experiments was designed to investigate the influence of initial calcium and phosphorus concentration on the precipitated phase, nucleation pH and product size distribution at 25°C. Another goal was to characterize the precipitated phase. The

Sr/Na co-doped brushite coating on SiC–C/C with brushite seeds

Surface Engineering, 2019
Strontium/sodium (Sr/Na) co-doped brushite (SSCB) coatings were applied on SiC-modified carbon/carbon composites (SC) with undoped brushite seeds. Undoped brushite seeds were synthesised on SC by the microwave-assisted hydrothermal method, which facilitated the rapid formation of SSCB. SSCB coatings were prepared by an electrochemical deposition method.

Dynamical model of brushite precipitation

Journal of Crystal Growth, 2007
The objectives of this work are twofold. From academic point of view the aim is to build a dynamical macro model to fit the material balance and explain the main kinetic mechanisms that govern the transformation of the hydroxyapatite (HAP) into brushite and the growth of brushite, based on laboratory experiments and collected database.
