Contrasting histopathology and crystal deposits in kidneys of idiopathic stone formers who produce hydroxy apatite, brushite, or calcium oxalate stones [PDF]
Our previous work has shown that stone formers who form calcium phosphate (CaP) stones that contain any brushite (BRSF) have a distinctive renal histopathology and surgical anatomy when compared with idiopathic calcium oxalate stone formers (ICSF).

Strontium‐substituted hydroxyapatite was engineered for efficient fluoride remediation and antibacterial performance. Enhanced surface area and Sr‐induced active sites enabled a high adsorption capacity of 625 mg g−1 with favorable kinetics and thermodynamics. The adsorbent showed strong reusability and successfully reduced fluoride in real groundwater

Abstract Biomimetic materials inspired by the hierarchical structure of nacre offer promising opportunities to enhance the mechanical strength and toughness of load‐bearing bone implants. This study investigates the incorporation of apatite‐wollastonite (AW) into nacre‐like hydroxyapatite (HA)/polymethylmethacrylate–polyacrylic acid (PMMA–PAA ...

ABSTRACT Rationale Chemical pre‐treatment is a common methodological step aimed to remove exogenous materials introduced to archaeological tooth enamel in the burial environment through diagenetic processes. However, some of these methods, involving the use of oxidising reagents such as NaClO, H2O2, as well as weak acids like CH3COOH, have been shown ...
