Planar Brushless Magnetic Micromotors

Journal of Microelectromechanical Systems, 2006
Novel planar magnetic micromotors and microgenerators of active diameter 8 mm were developed, delivering estimated torques of 100 muN.m at speeds in excess of 140 000 r/min. Such high performances are due to an innovative use of deep lithography and silicon etching for the fabrication of the stator coils. The hybrid design of the micromotors combines a

Analysis of multistability, hidden chaos and transient chaos in brushless DC motor

, 2020
The dynamics of brushless DC motor (BLDCM), a type of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) is investigated. The dynamical model of the BLDCM is compared to a mostly used model of PMSM.

Brushless cascade alternator

Proceedings of the Institution of Electrical Engineers, 1974
A brushless a.c. generator is described which has a mode of operation similar to two wound-rotor induction machines connected in cascade. This cascade machine, which has previously been considered for application as a motor, has single stator and rotor windings in a conventional induction-machine frame. The machine is one of inherently high pole number.

Online Diode Fault Detection in Rotating Rectifier of the Brushless Synchronous Starter Generator

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, 2020
The rotating rectifier in the brushless synchronous starter/generator is more vulnerable than others. Therefore, fault detection of the rotating rectifier is necessary.

Brushless superconducting alternators

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 1977
A report is presented on the program at CWRU to demonstrate the feasibility of a brushless superconducting alternator. In this machine the rotating field windings of the generator are excited by a flux pump. In this manner the conventional slip rings used to lead the current to the windings are eliminated.

Thermal Analysis and Management for Doubly Salient Brushless DC Generator With Flat Wire Winding

IEEE transactions on energy conversion, 2020
The preformed flat wire winding is widely applied in doubly salient brushless DC generator with a rectangular slot structure due to the high slot filling factor and processing efficiency. The windings are commonly identified as the hottest component. The

Indirect Torque Control of a Cascaded Brushless Doubly-Fed Induction Generator Operating With Unbalanced Power Grid

IEEE transactions on energy conversion, 2020
This article describes an indirect torque control algorithm for a cascaded brushless doubly-fed generator (CBDFIG). The control algorithm presented in the article provides a possibility for CBDFIG to work with an unbalanced power grid applying different ...

Enclosed Brushless Alternator

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1998
<div class="htmlview paragraph">A new, enclosed brushless alternator is developed for use in either hazardous or contaminated environments which can produce 50 Amps at 28 Volts DC. The fully enclosed design of this alternator allows it to work in environments which contain corrosive agents, metallic particulates, or volatile media.
