A Brushless Adjustable Excitation Generator

Elektrichestvo, 2022
Wind turbines are further developed toward improving their reliability and efficiency, and reducing maintenance costs during long-term operation. For this purpose, synchronous generators with excitation from permanent magnets are used, the parameters of which determine in many respects the efficiency and dimensions of the power plant as a whole.

Brushless Thyristor Excitation Systems.

IEEE Transactions on Power Apparatus and Systems, 1972
This paper shows how brushless thyristor excitation systems for large synchronous generators are being evolved in the authors' organisation, outlines the electrical and mechanical advantages that accrue, and includes some results of a digital computer comparison of such systems with other forms of excitation.

Analysis of polyphase brushless exciter

Conference Record of the 2000 IEEE Industry Applications Conference. Thirty-Fifth IAS Annual Meeting and World Conference on Industrial Applications of Electrical Energy (Cat. No.00CH37129), 2002
This paper presents the modeling and simulation of the operation of an 11-phase brushless exciter. The analytical method is based on Kron's tensor method, which is developed for dealing efficiently with the time-varying topology of an exciter circuit during a digital computer solution.
