In this paper, a self-excited topology by utilizing third harmonic field excitation is proposed for realizing the brushless operation of the Wound Rotor Vernier Machine (WRVM). The proposed topology consists of two windings housed inside the stator periphery connected in series with the three-phase diode rectifier.

It is well known that the air-gap magnetic field of the permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) is difficult to adjust. To overcome this challenge while maintaining the brushless feature of PMSGs, a hybrid excitation synchronous generator (HESG) based on inherent third harmonic field induction is proposed in this paper.

Influence of design parameters on the field current of the tooth harmonic excitation system
This study proposes a brushless hybrid excitation permanent magnet synchronous generator (HEPMSG) with rotor tooth harmonic winding. The rotor tooth harmonic electromotive force (EMF), induced by the inherent tooth harmonic magnetic field in the air gap, will provide the field current for the rotor field winding after the rectification.

Excitation of higher harmonic gratings in AC-field biased photorefractive crystals
We analyze the nonlinear excitation of holographic gratings in a photorefractive crystal being subject to an alternating electric field and a stationary light interference pattern. The influence of the higher harmonics on the fundamental grating is illustrated for the case where a crystal of Bi12SiO20 is the recording medium. We analyze both the steady

Empirical Expression for AC Magnetization Harmonics of Magnetic Nanoparticles under High-Frequency Excitation Field for Thermometry [PDF]
The Fokker–Planck equation accurately describes AC magnetization dynamics of magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs). However, the model for describing AC magnetization dynamics of MNPs based on Fokker-Planck equation is very complicated and the numerical calculation of Fokker-Planck function is time consuming.
