BSS and BSS-plus: effect on corneal endothelial ionic and non-ionic fluxes
Current Eye Research, 1986Rabbit corneas were mounted in water jacketed chambers and the endothelial surface perfused with either BSS (Balanced Salt Solution) or BSS-Plus for 3 hr. Unidirectional and net fluxes of sodium were similar in both groups of corneas. Bicarbonate fluxes in BSS-Plus were statistically similar to those in Krebs-Ringer solution.

Beaconhouse School System (BSS) Restructuring
Asian Journal of Management Cases, 2013The case discusses the hierarchical and structural changes brought about in 2008 within the Beaconhouse School System. The restructuring was mainly undertaken due to the school’s rapid expansion and fierce competitive environment. Kasim Kasuri, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of BSS, felt that the introduction of school group heads (SGHs) in BSS would ...

Brazilian Solar Spectroscope (bss)
Solar Physics, 2001Digital, decimetric (200–2500 MHz) Brazilian Solar Spectroscope (BSS) with high time (10–1000 ms) and frequency (1–10 MHz) resolution is in regular operation since April, 1998, at National Space Research Institute (INPE) at Sao Jose dos Campos, Brazil. BSS operates in conjunction with a 9-m diameter polar mounted antenna.

• Background: We evaluated the effects of Hartmann's lactated Ringer's (HLR) solution, balanced salt solution (BSS) and BSS Plus on human corneal endothelium. • Methods: Paired human corneas were mounted in the in vitro specular microscope for endothelial perfusion with HLR, BSS or BSS Plus for 15, 30, 60 and 120 min. Reversal experiments with BSS Plus

Measurements of electrical potential difference across isolated rabbit corneal endothelium (transendothelial electrical potential difference, TEPD) were used to evaluate the effect of two commonly used commercially prepared intraocular irrigation balanced salt solutions, BSS and BSS+, together with our own standard bicarbonate-containing control ...

BSS Toolbox for delayed and convolved mixtures
Proceedings. 2005 IEEE International Joint Conference on Neural Networks, 2005., 2006In this paper a Toolbox to generate and to analyze linear, non-linear, delayed and convolved mixtures of real source signals is presented. From one hand, in fact, a simple interface based on a physical model has been implemented and stereo, dolby, delayed, and convolved mixtures can be generated. On the other hand a blind source separation analysis can

A comparison of BSS algorithms
IJCNN'01. International Joint Conference on Neural Networks. Proceedings (Cat. No.01CH37222), 2002Several gradient-based algorithms exist for performing blind source separation (BSS). In this paper we compare three most popular neural algorithms: EASI, natural gradient and Bell-Sejnowski algorithms. The effectiveness of these algorithms depends upon the nonlinear activation function.

New algorithms for adaptive BSS
2012 11th International Conference on Information Science, Signal Processing and their Applications (ISSPA), 2012Blind Source Separation (BSS) is a vast field of research where a large number of BSS algorithms have already been proposed. However, derivation of adaptive BSS solutions with good trade-off between the computational cost and the convergence rate is still a challenging problem.
