Sorghum tolerance and weed control with amicarbazone and metribuzin applied preemergence

open access: yesAgrosystems, Geosciences &Environment, Volume 9, Issue 3, September 2026.
Abstract Groundwater contamination has prompted the Environmental Protection Agency to consider restricting atrazine use, highlighting the need for alternative preemergence herbicides in grain sorghum (Sorghum Moench). Research was conducted in 2023 and 2024 to evaluate grain sorghum tolerance and weed control from preemergence applications of ...

Diversity and Species Richness of Lepidopteran Stemborers and Their Host Plants Across Major Vegetation Mosaics of East Africa

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 9, September 2026.
Lepidopteran stemborer populations in wild habitats are increasingly influenced by anthropogenic disturbances, including urbanization and agricultural intensification in addition to climate change, which alter community composition and diversity within fragmented native ecosystems.

Nematode diversity in soil from a field trial with decomposing Bt cotton expressing Cry1Ac and Cry2Ab2 protein

open access: yesSpanish Journal of Agricultural Research, 2013
The quality of decomposing plant materials may affect the soil community structure. The aim of the study was to determine the impact of decomposing Bt cotton and its isoline on soil nematode diversity.

Cross‐domain sustainability preferences in clothing and food: Evidence from environmental attitudes, stated confidence in producers claims and willingness‐to‐pay measures

open access: yesEnvironmental Psychology Research, Volume 1, Issue 3, September 2026.
Abstract Background Sustainability attributes increasingly feature in consumer products, but it remains unclear whether environmental and ethical preferences are consistent across clothing and food choices. Aims This study examines how environmental attitudes, stated choices and willingness to pay vary across clothing and food.

Effects of Spirulina Enrichment on Bread Quality: Color, Texture, Volatile, and Sensory Properties

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 9, September 2026.
This study explored how the addition of 1%–2% Spirulina powder affects bread quality, focusing on color, texture, volatile compounds, and sensory characteristics. Spirulina mainly influenced bread color and volatile profile, while texture remained largely unchanged. The enriched samples also showed more pronounced bitter and marine notes.

CCL26‐Mediated Modulation of Endothelial Secretome by Hypoxia‐Induced Tumor‐Derived Exosomes Enhances Metastatic Progression in Head and Neck Cancer

open access: yesHead &Neck, Volume 48, Issue 9, Page 2377-2393, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Tumor cells adapt to hypoxia by releasing hiTDExs enriched with bioactive molecules that modulate endothelial behavior and promote tumor progression. This study aimed to characterize how hypoxia‐induced HNSCC exosomes reshape the endothelial secretome and contribute to metastatic potential.

Bt agave: why it is time to explore a new biotechnological frontier

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 82, Issue 9, Page 8053-8063, September 2026.
Drylands cover 41% of Earth, requiring sustainable crops. Agave, drought‐ and heat‐adapted, offers high‐value products with low water needs. Pests limit yield, yet Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) Cry proteins, successful in other plants, remain unexploited in Agave.
