Efficacy of Antimicrobial Silver‐Plated Dressings Compared to Usual Care in Preventing Left Ventricular Assist Device Driveline Infections

Integrating silver‐plated wound dressings into DLES care presents a safe and effective strategy for DLI prevention. Key findings include a 100% infection‐free rate in the Silverlon group, no NPWT and hospital readmission in the Silverlon group, and no severe DESTINE stages (3, 4) in the Silverlon group.

Bile-Derived Exosomal miR-196a/-196b as Diagnostic Biomarkers Associated With Tumor Progression in Biliary Tract Cancer. [PDF]

Bile‐derived exosomal miR‐196a and miR‐196b are identified as novel biomarkers for biliary tract cancer. Serum miR‐196a levels are significantly elevated in advanced disease with metastasis, while both miRNAs contribute to tumor progression by promoting cancer cell proliferation and invasion.

Contribution of endosomal proteins EHD1 and EHD4 to the HIV‐1 replication cycle

Comparison of Uncovered and Covered Biliary SEMS for the Salvage of Obstructed SEMS: A Multicenter Retrospective Propensity Score–Weighted Study

In patients undergoing secondary SEMS placement after initial uncovered stent failure, fully covered and uncovered SEMSs showed comparable patency, survival, and safety. However, mechanisms of recurrent biliary obstruction differed by stent type, with tumor ingrowth in uncovered SEMSs and sludge or food impaction in fully covered SEMSs.
