Exploring Impacts of Surface Coatings to Modify Water Uptake and Selectivity within Metal–Organic Nanotubes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
The surface of a metal–organic nanotube (MONT) is modified by a self‐assembled monolayer (ammonium trifluoroacetate) and polymer coatings, specifically polyvinylidene fluoride and polyacrylonitrile to explore their influence on water adsorption properties in hybrid materials.

Alignment, Rising, Sticking, and Phototaxis: Modulating the Behavior of Hematite Micropeanuts

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Although a rich variety of behaviors, such as rising and phototaxis, are observed with light‐activated semiconductor microparticles, the experimental conditions under which such behaviors occur have not been elucidated. In this study, pH, fuel concentration, and light intensity are varied, revealing diverse behaviors of hematite microparticles.

Fabrication of Ultra‐Thick Masks for X‐Ray Phase Contrast Imaging at Higher Energy

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This work shows a fabrication route to 500 µm thick X‐ray masks the thickest ever reported in the literature combining dynamic optimization of etching parameters and superconformal bismuth‐mediated gold filling. Their use in an Edge Illunomination set‐up showed their higher phase sensitivity at higher energies compared to thinner masks, especially for ...

Ultrasonically Deposited Boron‐Doped Silicon Decorated with Laser‐Generated Iridium Nanoparticles as Manufacturing Approach for OER Electrodes in PEM Water Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
The study presents an easily adaptable approach for manufacturing electrodes with boron‐doped silicon supporting iridium nanoparticles for oxygen evolution in acidic electrolysis. Colloidal Ir nanoparticles are deposited onto B‐doped Si and sprayed onto titanium substrates, achieving ultralow Ir loading while enhancing conductivity and electrochemical ...

Therapeutic Potential of Manuka Honey Microbubble Dressing in Wound Management

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
The manuka honey microbubble dressing innovation utilizes high‐density stainless steel mesh technology to generate microscopic honey bubbles achieving S. aureus elimination by fine‐tuning factors such as microbubble size, MH microbubble consumption, and treatment duration. This pioneering approach transforms traditional wound healing and may reduce the
