Proton acceleration in underdense plasma by ultraintense Laguerre–Gaussian laser pulse
A three-dimensional (3D) particle-in-cell (PIC) simulation is used to investigate witness proton acceleration in underdense plasma with a short intense Laguerre–Gaussian (LG) laser pulse.

Prestraining the substrate influences coating formation process. Higher prestraining force leads to higher coating thickness and lower hardness. Increase in prestraining force enhances preliminary damage in hard anodic coating. Fatigue damage mechanisms change for hard anodized prestrained samples.

Rupture of an air bubble on the solid surfaces
We investigate behavior of bouncing and rupturing air bubbles on solid surfaces experimentally. We focus our attention to how the hydrophilicity of the solid surface alters the rupture process.

Blowing bubbles: Dermoscopy of bubble hair
Exposing wet hair to high temperatures can create gas bubbles within the hair shaft, leading to brittle, dry hairs in a disorder known as bubble hair abnormality. We present a case of a 61-year-old woman who presented for hair breakage over her crown. She regularly dried her damp hair with a blow dryer.

A laboratory‐scale procedure is developed to evaluate the efficiency of melt‐cleaning and drossing fluxes during aluminium alloy recycling, studying their effects on melt cleanliness and tensile properties of secondary foundry alloys. This work provides a practical tool for foundries and aluminium refiners to assess the efficiency of salt fluxes in ...

Behavior of Water Jet Accompanied with Air Suction
In order to atomize a liquid, the authors have investigated the behavior of air-water jets. In a series of experiments, we have discovered a strange phenomenon that the water jet accompanied with air suction from the free surface has made a periodic ...

Strong interactions bubble/bubble and bubble/flow [PDF]
The study of bubble dynamics in non-uniform flow fields is fundamental to the ability to predict or explain any cavitation effects in real flow fields. In this presentation we describe our recent contributions towards the fundamental understanding of bubble dynamics in non-uniform flow fields when large bubble deformations and bubble interactions are ...

Starting from a peculiar image observed below a bubble that is floating at a water–air interface, this paper analyzes several optical properties of these special types of refracting objects (termed bubble axicons). Using mainly geometrical optics, their relation to common axicons, the shadow-sausage effect, and elementary optical catastrophes (caustics)

Herein, the electroplating of titanium from an organic solvent, ethaline, is shown. Polymer additives are shown to smooth the roughness of the film, and small molecule additives are shown to produce a near‐mirror finish to the deposited metal. Titanium electroreduction is desired for a variety of medical, electronic, and bonding applications but has ...
