3D Simulation and Validation of a Lab Scale Bubble Column
Bubble columns are widely used in the chemical, petrochemical and biochemical industry. The correct prediction of the fluid dynamics, gas hold-up and bubble size distribution is of importance for the design and development of such reactors.

Numerical Simulation of Poly-Dispersed Bubbly Flow Using a Multi-Fluid Model
Numerical methods for predicting poly-dispersed bubbly flows in bubble columns are indispensable in the design of bubble column reactors. The objectives of the present study are (1) to experimentally investigate the effects of a bubble size distribution ...

Numerical Simulation of Hold-up and Velocity Profiles for Two-phase Developed Flows in a Column
The purpose of this article is to simulate and analyse two-phase fluid dynamics in a bubble column, through two different numerical approaches, in a fast and effective way, to minimize project costs and increase productivity.

Liquid-Phase Back mixing in Bubble Columns
Liquid-phase axial dispersion coefficients have been measured for air-water system in bubble columns of 10, 15 and 30 cm diameter. The experiments are carried out using a transient method (the tracer response method).

Optimizing photoexcitation conditions for time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering experiments
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering (TR‐XSS) is a powerful technique to visualize how proteins change their structure in real time after light activation. Selecting the right laser photoexcitation conditions—fluence, excitation geometry, and sample refresh rate—is critical to maximize the experimental signal while avoiding unwanted side effects ...

In order to optimize and design new bubbly flow reactors, it is necessary to predict the bubble behavior and properties with respect to the time and location. In gas-liquid flows, it is easily observed that the bubble sizes may vary widely.

Protocol for quantifying miRNA trafficking across the endosomal membrane
An in vitro protocol measures miRNA uptake into endosomes isolated from mammalian cell extracts, which are free of subcellular contaminants. Performed at 37 °C in the presence of ATP, it ensures the import of single‐stranded miRNA into the endosomal lumen.
