Bubble formation on a submerged micronozzle

Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2010
This work investigates detailed formation of air bubbles on a submerged micrometer-sized nozzle. The experimental study is conducted on a submerged nozzle of radius of 55 microm under low gas flow rate conditions (0.015-0.83 ml/min). The bubble formation is recorded by a high-speed optical camera and detailed characteristics of bubble formation such as

Bistability in bubble formation

Physical Review E, 2004
We obtain experimental data on time intervals of a bubble train generated from a nozzle with the air flow rate as the control parameter. Varying the length of the hose that connects the proportionating solenoid valve to the nozzle, we generate bifurcation diagrams showing period-adding cascades, among other dynamical phenomena.

A model for bubble–bubble and bubble–wall interaction in bubble formation

AIChE Journal, 2005
AbstractA theoretical model for bubble formation at a submerged orifice has been developed, which takes into account the interaction between the column wall and the growing bubble at the orifice, as well as the interaction between subsequent bubbles formed and detached from the orifice.

Bubble formation and deformation

Chemical Engineering Science, 2022
A simple physical concept is presented for describing the bubble formation process which involves bubble growth, bubble rise, bubble detachment, bubble deformation. The following three effects are taken into account: buoyancy, inertia, elasticity. The energy conservation during the detachment is used to find the relation between the resulting bubble ...
