Measurements of bubble size distributions with an optical technique based on depth from focus [PDF]
An optical sensor for bubble size measurements is presented. It is based on the combination of light blocking visualization and depth from focus techniques and allows for the measurement of single bubbles.

Air Bubble Size and Its Transition in a Horizontal Tube Produced by Venturi-Nozzle Bubble Generator [PDF]
This paper investigates the air bubble size and its transition in a horizontal tube of 700 mm. The tube was assembled with a venturi-nozzle bubble generator. Air and water flow-rates vary in the present study.

Hydrodynamics and mass transfer in bubble column: Influence of liquid phase surface tension [PDF]
According to literature, few experiments are performed in organic solvents which are mostly used in commercial gas–liquid reactors. However, it is commonly accepted that data obtained in aqueous solution allow to predict the surface tension effects, and ...

Effect of bubble size on bubble rising velocity and stagnation in a granular bed
The hydrodynamics of gas and liquid flow through a granular bed were proposed in this work. By introducing optical principles, a high-speed camera was used to capture bubbles at different heights in a granular bed. The effect of bubble size on the rising

On the reliability of an optical fibre probe in bubble column under industrial relevant operating conditions [PDF]
When bubble columns are operated under industrial relevant conditions (high gas and liquid flow rates, large bubbles and vortices,. . .), local data, and especially bubble size values, are difficult to obtain.

Bubble growth in a two-dimensional viscoelastic foam [PDF]
The effects of viscoelasticity on the expansion of gas bubbles arranged in a hexagonal array in a polymeric fluid are investigated. The expansion is driven by the diffusion of a soluble gas from the liquid phase, and the rate of expansion is controlled ...
