Magnetic Force Microscopy Signatures of Higher‐Order Skyrmions and Antiskyrmions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetic force microscopy operated under vacuum conditions enables the qualitative identification of higher‐order skyrmions and antiskyrmions in Co/Ni multilayers at room temperature. Distinct stray‐field contrast signatures arise from vertical Bloch lines and complex domain‐wall configurations.

Parametric study of population balance model on the DEBORA flow boiling experiment

open access: yesNuclear Engineering and Technology
In two-fluid simulations of flow boiling, the modeling of the mean bubble diameter is a key parameter in the closure relations governing the intefacial transfer of mass, momentum, and energy.

Local gas-liquid hold-up and interfacial area via light sheet and image analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Particle Image Velocimetry techniques coupled with advanced Image Processing tools are receiving an increasing interest for measuring flow quantities and local bubble-size distributions in gas-liquid contactors.

An analytical model of the large neutral regions during the late stage of reionization

open access: yes, 2013
In this paper we investigate the nature and distribution of large neutral regions during the late epoch of reionization. In the "bubble model" of reionization, the mass distribution of large ionized regions ("bubbles") during the early stage of ...

Size distribution of decaying foam bubbles

open access: yesThe European Physical Journal E
The most studies on the stability of foam bubbles investigated the mechanical stability of thin films between bubbles due to the drainage by gravity. In the current work, we take an alternative approach by assuming the rupture of bubbles as a series of random events and by investigating the time evolution of the size distribution of foam bubbles over a

Covalent Organic Frameworks for Photocatalytic CO2 Reduction: Metal Integration Principles, Strategies and Functions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) with metals have been recognized as versatile platforms for photocatalytic CO2 reduction (CO2PRR). Herein, an overview of metal integration strategies for COFs is systematically summarized. Regulatory mechanisms and structure–activity relationships between metal integration and COF‐based CO2PRR are emphasized.

The variance of dispersion measure of high-redshift transient objects as a probe of ionized bubble size during reionization

open access: yes, 2017
The dispersion measure (DM) of high-redshift $(z \gtrsim 6)$ transient objects such as Fast Radio Bursts can be a powerful tool to probe the intergalactic medium during the Epoch of Reionization. In this paper, we study the variance of the DMs of objects

Dense Nanofibrillar Collagen–Silica Hybrids with High Strength and ECM‐Mimetic Tissue Integration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Dense nanofibrillar collagen–silica hybrids are engineered by synchronizing collagen fibrillogenesis with silica condensation, producing printable scaffolds that unexpectedly approach native extracellular matrix organization and strength. These cell‐free constructs guide endogenous cell‐infiltration, enable localized matrix remodeling, and integrate ...

A NOVEL TECHNIQUE FOR MEASURING LOCAL BUBBLE SIZE DISTRIBUTION [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
A novel experimental technique for measuring the local gas hold-up and the statistical distribution of local bubble size, is proposed. The technique is based on laser sheet illumination of the gas-liquid dispersion and synchronized camera, i.e.

Towards observable signatures of other bubble universes

open access: yes, 2007
We evaluate the possibility of observable effects arising from collisions between vacuum bubbles in a universe undergoing false-vacuum eternal inflation.
