Bubble size distribution near a pressure antinode
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1999When strong ultrasonic standing wave fields are generated in liquid-filled resonators, cavitation bubbles emerge and build dynamic structures, typically near the pressure antinodes. For technical applications like sonochemical reactions taking place in the resonator, the size distribution of the clustering bubbles is an important parameter.

Bubble Size Distribution in Oil‐Based Bubble Columns
Chemical Engineering & Technology, 2008AbstractA practical population balance model was used to evaluate the bubble size distribution in a bubble column. In addition, the bubble size distribution in the bubble column was measured at different gas velocities by photography and analysis of the pictures.

Bubble‐Size distributions and flow fields in bubble columns
AIChE Journal, 2002AbstractBubble‐size distributions and flow fields in bubble columns are calculated numerically. The population balance is simplified and reduced to a balance equation for the average bubble volume. Models developed predict the rate of bubble breakup and coalescence based on physical principles.

Lognormal bubble size distributions
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2017In the study of oceanic bubbles based on empirical acoustics, the distributions among the sizes are typically represented by power laws with negative slopes as convenient descriptors of data in log/log format. However, power laws do not address the fact that as bubble sizes approach zero their numbers must approach zero.

Size Distribution of Cavitation Bubbles
2015Acoustic cavitation is defined as the formation of a vapor cavity and bubbles in response to an acoustic field. One can generalize this definition to encompass any observable activity involving a bubble or a population of bubbles stimulated into motion by an acoustic field (Apfel in Methods in Experimental Physics 19:355–411, 1984). There are two basic

Measurements of oceanic bubble size distributions
Proceedings of OCEANS'94, 2002For systematic studies of air-sea exchange processes, detailed information is required on the bubble size distributions near the sea surface as function of meteorological and oceanographic conditions. The bubble size distributions should be measured simultaneously with the fluxes of aerosols and gases.

Bubble size and bubble velocity distribution in bubble columns under industrial conditions
The Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, 2017Bubble column reactors are widely used in many industrial applications due to their simplicity and safety of operation. Despite these advantages, the design and scale‐up of bubble column reactors is still challenging especially for industrial conditions at elevated pressure and temperature.

Determination of bubble size distributions in bubble columns using LDA
AIChE Journal, 2004AbstractA new method is developed for the determination of bubble size distributions from experimental laser Doppler anemometry (LDA) data through simultaneous measurement of only two orthogonal velocity components and the intermittent time gaps arising out of bubbles passing through the measurement point.

Bubble size distribution in the sparger region of bubble columns
Chemical Engineering Science, 2002Abstract It is well known that the gas distributor can play an important role on the evolution of the bubble size distribution (BSD) in gas–liquid reactors, strippers and absorbers. Therefore, the main subject of the present work was to study the influence of sparger design and process parameters on the BSD in the sparger region of the considered ...

ACOUSTIC DETERMINATION OF BUBBLE SIZE DISTRIBUTION
1966Abstract : The purpose of the investigation was to determine the feasibility of measuring bubble size distributions acoustically. The experiment consisted of a comparison of a photographically and an acoustically determined bubble size distribution of an electrolytically generated bubble screen. The approximate range of bubble radii considered was from
