The simple morphology of the sunfish heart
Journal of Anatomy, EarlyView.Jensen and Lauridsen describe the least curved vertebrate heart to date in seven specimens of Ocean sunfish. By comparison to multiple vertebrates, it is concluded that the highly unusual heart is a recent evolution that relates in part to the extraordinary shape of the body.
