Redistributive land reforms, agricultural productivity, and structural change: New cross‐national evidence

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Agricultural Economics, EarlyView.
Abstract Large‐scale land reforms constitute a substantial redistribution of wealth and reallocation of agricultural land, which is a major form of asset and production input in developing countries. While land redistribution (from the rich to the poor) remains a highly controversial issue, extensive evidence on its effect is limited.

Component-Minimized Buck-Boost Voltage Source Inverters

open access: yes, 2007
This paper presents the design of buck-boost B4 inverters that can be derived from either Ćuk- or SEPIC-derived buck-boost B6 inverters. Unlike traditional inverters, the integration of front-end voltage boost circuitry and inverter circuitry allows it ...

The Herfindahl neutral point: A firm‐level threshold for managing market concentration with evidence from US hog packing

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Agricultural Economics, EarlyView.
Abstract This paper derives a firm‐level threshold, the Herfindahl Neutral Point, from the standard concentration index used in merger review. At this threshold, a marginal expansion leaves the index unchanged. Firms below the threshold reduce concentration when they expand; firms above it increase concentration.

On Buck-Boost Converter Power Inductor Matching

open access: yes, 2019
This paper discusses the optimal matching of the power inductor for the buck-boost converter. The relationship between the amplitude of the inductor peak-peak ripple current and the input/output operating conditions of the buck-boost converter ...

Sustainable Palm Oil Extraction and Trends in the Use of Green Technologies: State‐of‐the‐Art and Future Directions

open access: yesJournal of the American Oil Chemists' Society, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Palm oil, which is extracted from the mesocarp of the fruit of the Elaeis guineensis Jacq. palm tree, is the most widely produced vegetable oil in the world. The extraction of this substance typically utilizes the conventional pressing method, a technique that is advantageous due to its low operating cost and simplified process.

Transformer isolated buck-boost converters

open access: yes, 2016
Of the single-switch dc-to-dc converters, those with the buck-boost voltage transfer function offer most potential for transformer coupling, hence isolation, at the kilowatt level. This paper highlights the limitations of the traditional magnetic coupled,
