A novel voltage-bucking/boosting converter: KY buck-boost converter

2008 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology, 2008
In this paper, a novel voltage-bucking/boosting converter, named as KY buck-boost converter (i.e. 2D converter) is presented herein. Unlike the traditional buck-boost converter, this converter possesses fast transient responses, similar to the behavior of the buck converter with synchronous rectification.

A new soft-switching technique for buck, boost, and buck~boost converters

IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 2003
A new soft switching technique for buck, boost and buck-boost converters using a coupled inductor is proposed in this paper. The principles of operation of these converters are analyzed in detail. An additional winding is added on the same core of the main inductor for the purpose of commutation.

Design and Comparative Study of DC-DC Quadratic Buck-Boost Converter and Cascaded Buck-Boost Converter

2021 International Conference on Recent Trends on Electronics, Information, Communication & Technology (RTEICT), 2021
Renewable energy sources are reliable and plentiful. They are potentially available for free of cost and are effective if the energy conversion system is improved. Among all other renewable energy sources, solar energy is one of the best nonconventional energy sources.

A special buck-boost converter

[Proceedings] Fourteenth International Telecommunications Energy Conference - INTELEC '92, 2003
A special step-up/down converter is investigated. The basic function, the stationary relationships, the small signal behavior, the position of the poles and zeros and the dimensioning are discussed. For a model converter, simulation and measurement results are compared.

Worst-Case Input Voltage in Buck, Boost and Buck-Boost converters

2019 International Semiconductor Conference (CAS), 2019
Due to the increasing demands and rigor required for the functioning of electronic circuits, modern simulators must allow for more complex analyzes. These can be very effective tools when the designer does not have enough physical time and wants to obtain a solution that meets the requirements of the project, because allow multiple checks in a short ...

A buck-boost converter controlled by periodic inputs

2000 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (ISCAS), 2000
This paper presents a buck-boost converter controlled by periodic inputs and provides the basic theoretical results, As an efficient analysis tool, we derive a slope chart that displays the relationship between slopes of the return map and those of the inputs.

On Buck-Boost Converter Power Inductor Matching

2019 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (ISCAS), 2019
This paper discusses the optimal matching of the power inductor for the buck-boost converter. The relationship between the amplitude of the inductor peak-peak ripple current and the input/output operating conditions of the buck-boost converter facilitates the use of smaller ferrite core power inductors.

Extended buck-boost derived hybrid converter

2017 IEEE Industry Applications Society Annual Meeting, 2017
Dua\ output hybrid converter supplying DC and AC loads simultaneously are gaining interest due to their compact size. This is due to single stage conversion that results in cost saving and offers decoupled control of both AC and DC output. Though hybrid converter derived from boost was reported, they were unable to supply lower DC output.

Analysis of chaotic buck, boost and buck-boost converters through switching maps

PESC97. Record 28th Annual IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference. Formerly Power Conditioning Specialists Conference 1970-71. Power Processing and Electronic Specialists Conference 1972, 2002
This paper is concerned with the analysis and comparison of nonlinear phenomena in current and voltage controlled boost, buck and buck-boost DC/DC converters. The study is carried out by using three different discrete time maps: the stroboscopic map, the S-switching map and the A-switching map, which are obtained by different samplings of the state ...
