FIELD INVESTIGATIONS OF SOME BLOOD TRACE ELEMENTS IN BUFFALO-CALVES SUFFERING FROM LOSS OF HAIR AND SKIN LESIONS [PDF]
A total number of 80 buffalo-calves, 2-6 months of age in El-Hawatka buffaloe farm were involved in this study. Sixty buffalo-calves were clinically affected and 20 buffalo-calves were clinically healthy and served as control.

Adding probiotics to calf milk significantly improved growth, resulting in higher final body weight and daily weight gain compared to the control group. Probiotics, particularly Bacillus subtilis, enhanced fecal consistency scores, nutrient digestibility, and skeletal development.

Whole fodder beet silage (with/without Lactobacillus buchneri) in sheep diets improved dry matter intake and rumen fermentation compared to tops or bulbs alone. Although corn silage showed highest digestibility, whole beet silage—especially with LB—demonstrated promising rumen pH, NH3‐N and acetate:propionate ratio, serving as a viable alternative feed.

Use of large bulls to improve the body weight of local small sized buffalo
