Stamen-specific proteins of buffelgrass (Cenchrus ciliaris)
Journal of Plant Physiology, 1991Summary Total proteins were extracted from Cenchrus ciliaris L. (buffelgrass) pistils at the stages of megasporogenesis and of embryo sac enlargement and from anthdrs at the stages of microsporogenesis and of uninucleate microspore enlargement. They were analyzad by two-dimensional isoelectric focusing/SDSpolyacrylamide gel electrophoresis.

It is a polymorphic, apomictic species and its most common chromosome number is 2n = 4x = 36.

Weed Science, 1977Establishment and early growth characteristics were defined for sourgrass [Trichachne insularis(L.) Nees], one of the most serious pasture weeds in Hawaii. Optimum germination of sourgrass seeds was obtained in the light at 30 C or with alternating temperatures of 20 and 30 C or 25 and 35 C.
