Mâverâünnehr merkezli kurulan hanlığın yayıldığı topraklardan birisi de, bugünkü Kuzey Afganistan’dır. Afganistan toprakları 16. yüzyılın başında Timurlu Devleti’nin tamamen dağılması ile birlikte üç nüfuz bölgesine ayrılmıştı.
