Electroadhesion (EA) Suction Cups are electrically operated soft grippers that can pick up a wide range of objects from the top. A soft membrane, driven by electrostatic forces, conforms to surfaces, creating a passive vacuum when lifted. EA suction cups eliminate bulky vacuum systems, offering a compact, efficient, and portable alternative for ...

Organic–Inorganic Hybrid Indium Halide Perovskites with Near‐Unity Photoluminescence Quantum Yield
The intrinsic low photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) of organic–inorganic hybrid halide perovskites has limited their applications in optoelectronic devices. In this work, novel (PMA)₄InCl₇·0.5H₂O single crystals are developed and a PLQY of approximately 100% through optimized antimony ion (Sb3⁺) doping is achieved. The light‐emitting diodes (LEDs)

The Role of Temperature in the Growth and Flowering of Geophytes
Among several naturally occurring environmental factors, temperature is considered to play a predominant role in controlling proper growth and flowering in geophytes. Most of them require a “warm-cold-warm” sequence to complete their annual cycle.

The 4-Dimensional Light Bulb Theorem (after David Gabai) [PDF]
In this note I present my understanding of, that is to say the way I look at, David Gabai's proof of his recent 4-Dimensional Light Bulb Theorem (4D-LBT). His construction, entirely smooth, is an ingenious amalgam of classical moves, and represents the first new hands-on advance in constructive smooth 4-manifold theory, that I am aware of, in a long ...

Neurogenesis Drives Stimulus Decorrelation in a Model of the Olfactory Bulb [PDF]
The reshaping and decorrelation of similar activity patterns by neuronal networks can enhance their discriminability, storage, and retrieval. How can such networks learn to decorrelate new complex patterns, as they arise in the olfactory system? Using a computational network model for the dominant neural populations of the olfactory bulb we show that ...

A brighter future? Quantifying the rebound effect in energy efficient lighting [PDF]
This paper quantifies the direct rebound effects associated with the switch from incandescent lamps (ILs) or halogen bulbs to more energy efficient compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) or light emitting diodes (LEDs) using a large nationally representative ...

This study explores the performance of superhydrophobic surfaces during condensation from humid air, showing a 30%–40% heat transfer enhancement at high air velocities, but no advantage at low velocities. Improved droplet removal and vapor mass transfer through the non‐condensable gas layer explain the effect, clarifying operating conditions for ...

Joint Impact of Bus Stop Location and Configuration on Intersection Performance
There are several possible bus stop locations and configurations. A bus stop can be located before or after the intersection as curb-side stop, bus bay or bus bulb.
