New AI‐Assisted Approach for Expanding the Solution Space: Application to Lattice Structure Design

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work introduces an innovative framework for designing structured materials by ex panding the design space through reparameterization of qualitative variables into continuous structural descriptors. Combined with machine‐learning‐based prediction and multi‐objective optimization, the approach enables the discovery of novel lattice architectures ...

Computational Study on Flow Characteristics of Shocked Light Backward-Triangular Bubbles in Polyatomic Gas

open access: yesAxioms
This study computationally examined the Richtmyer–Meshkov instability (RMI) evolution in a helium backward-triangular bubble immersed in monatomic argon, diatomic nitrogen, and polyatomic methane under planar shock wave interactions.

Additive Manufacturing of Alumina‐Reinforced Elastomers

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Vat‐photopolymerized elastomers reinforced with platelet‐shaped alumina exhibited preferential orientation, reduced porosity, and significantly enhanced mechanical performance. A 3 wt% platelet loading increased tensile strength from 12.4 to 45.7 MPa, highlighting the critical role of filler morphology in elastomeric VPP composites.

Testing generalized second law of thermodynamics in cosmological models with bulk viscosity and modified gravity

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields
This study examines the validity of the Generalized Second Law of Thermodynamics (GSLT) to generalized Chaplygin gas (GCG) and modified Chaplygin gas (MCG) models within the general relativity(GR) framework and modified gravity framework namely the f(T ...

High‐Resolution Corrosion Fingerprinting of Alloy Libraries via Microdroplet Spectroelectrochemistry

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Ionic‐liquid microdroplet spectroelectrochemistry enables stable, localized electrochemical measurements over extended timescales. By coupling impedance spectroscopy, wetting analysis, finite‐element simulations, and operando Raman spectroscopy, it disentangles geometrical and electrochemical effects, opening new opportunities for rapid corrosion ...

High pressure falling sinker liquid viscosity determination without supplementary density data : a new approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Accurate measurement and determination of liquid viscosity data under high pressure conditions requires knowledge of liquid density data. In this study, a high pressure falling sinker-type viscometer was used to determine the viscosity of n-dodecane at ...

Study on Oil Displacement Mechanism of Betaine/Polymer Binary Flooding in High-Temperature and High-Salinity Reservoirs

open access: yesMolecules
As an efficient and economical method to enhance oil recovery (EOR), it is very important to explore the applicability of chemical flooding under harsh reservoir conditions, such as high temperature and high salinity.

Bulk viscosity of QCD matter near the critical temperature [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Kubo's formula relates bulk viscosity to the retarded Green's function of the trace of the energy-momentum tensor. Using low energy theorems of QCD for the latter we derive the formula which relates the bulk viscosity to the energy density and pressure ...

Impact of MgO Additions on the Oxidation Resistance and Compression Behavior of Vanadium Alloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An increase in oxidation resistance at 600 °C is achieved for alloys containing more than 2.5 wt.% MgO. It has been established that, along with V2O5, MgO6V2, and Mg2O7V2 are formed, which are presumed to enhance oxidative stability. Furthermore, the possible transformation of Mg‐vanadates through reaction with CO2, which presumably occurs in this ...
