Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

Spatially Modulated Morphotropic Phase Boundaries in a Compressively Strained Multiferroic Thin Film
ABSTRACT The coexisting rhombohedral‐like (R′, MA) and tetragonal‐like (T′, MC) monoclinic phases in compressively strained bismuth ferrite thin films exhibit exceptional piezoelectric and magnetic properties. While previous studies have largely focused on probing the morphotropic phase boundaries (MPBs) comprising ordered R′/T′ twins, their self ...

Effects of mining subsidence observed by time-lapse seismic reflection profiling [PDF]
Extracting coal from underground mineworkings causes the overlying rocks to subside with associated changes in the stress regime. The aim of the study reported here was to apply the surface seismic reflection method to study the effect of subsidence on ...

ON THE EFFECT OF CAPILLARY FORCES ON PULSE DYNAMICS IN A POROUS MEDIUM
The study of elastic waves in porous media is of practical importance for the tasks of mineral prospecting, the use of porous screens for damping shock wave effects, studying the structure of the Earth's crust, etc.

Elasticity determination by means of ultrasonic pulse transmission requires experimental realization of non-dispersive, i.e. frequency-independent, wave propagation, be it in form of bulk waves propagating in an (approximately) infinite medium, or of ...

Experimental observation of water saturation effects on shear wave splitting in synthetic rock with fractures aligned at oblique angles [PDF]
Fractured rocks are known to exhibit seismic anisotropy and shear wave splitting (SWS). SWS is commonly used for fractured rock characterization and has been shown to be sensitive to fluid type. The presence of partial liquid/gas saturation is also known

The nanostructure, size, and function of mRNA‐loaded lipid nanoparticles are evaluated before drying, within polymer microneedles, and after rehydration. The results reveal the polymer and LNP loadings required to recover nanostructure and preserve the delivery performance in dry‐state formulations.
