Aphakic bullous keratopathy

Clinical and Experimental Optometry, 1986
A 72 year old man complained of a painful red eye following cataract surgery. We diagnosed bullous keratopathy. A hydrophilic contact lens was successful in relieving this patient's pain despite some neovascularization, but vision in the affected eye remained low.

Management of Pseudophakic Bullous Keratopathy

Ophthalmic Surgery, Lasers and Imaging Retina, 1989
ABSTRACT The incidence of pseudophakic bullous keratopathy, now the most common indication for penetrating keratoplasty, is increasing. Since over one million intraocular lenses were implanted in 1986, a large number of eyes are at risk. The etiology of pseudophakic bullous keratopathy is varied and depends in great part on the surgical ...

The bandage lens in bullous keratopathy

Ophthalmic and Physiological Optics, 1989
One of the most common indications for the fitting of therapeutic contact lenses is bullous keratopathy, a painful condition often iatrogenic in origin and more usually encountered in elderly patients. Penetrating Keratoplasty in Pseudophakic Bullous Keratopathy

American Journal of Ophthalmology, 1980
We studied 25 consecutive patients who underwent penetrating keratoplasty for pseudophakic bullous keratopathy. Follow-up time averaged 20 months. Ten patients required postimplantation surgical procedures because of complications after lens implantation.
