Light Leakage of Multidomain Vertical Alignment LCDs Using a Colorimetric Model in the Dark State
Light leakage from liquid crystal displays in the dark state is relatively larger and leads to a degraded contrast ratio and color shift. This work describes a novel colorimetric model based on the Muller matrix that includes depolarization of light ...

Farmer-Owned Enterprises (BUMP) as an Adoption of Short Food Supply Chains in Urban Areas [PDF]
Long food supply chains pose a challenge to the food system in urban areas. The adoption of short food supply chains (SFSC) by Farmer-Owned Enterprises (BUMP) in Semarang City provides a viable alternative solution, although gaps in understanding remain.

Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Efficiency of noise reduction by a road speed bump
The vehicle noise from a road with a bump consists of the deceleration noise, bump noise, and acceleration noise. The bump is modeled by the Dirac delta function.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Hardware accelerated computer graphics algorithms
The advent of shaders in the latest generations of graphics hardware, which has made consumer level graphics hardware partially programmable, makes now an ideal time to investigate new graphical techniques and algorithms as well as attempting to improve ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

The stability of supersonic inlets faces challenges due to various changes in flight conditions, and flow control methods that address shock wave/boundary layer interactions under only one set of conditions cannot meet developmental requirements.

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Shock Control on a Double-Fuselage Aircraft with a Natural Laminar Flow Wing
This paper presents the design of shock control bumps on a double-fuselage aircraft with a natural laminar flow (NLF) wing section. Both two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) bumps were investigated to identify the high-impact factors on both ...
