A Perspective of Multi‐Reflecting TOF MS

open access: yesMass Spectrometry Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Time‐of‐flight mass spectrometry (TOF MS) excels in rapid and high‐sensitivity analysis, making it a cornerstone of analytical chemistry. But as sample complexity explodes in omics studies, so does the need for higher resolving power to ensure accurate results.

Forbs in Viking lands: the effect of disturbing dominant graminoids on recruitment in tundra grasslands

open access: yesOikos, EarlyView.
Grasslands, by definition, are dominated by graminoids. Nevertheless, forbs also make up a substantial part of vascular plant diversity in grasslands and are important resources of mammalian herbivores. However, forb recruitment is constrained by successful dominant graminoids, limiting access to safe sites for germination.

Deterministic versus Stochastic Mechanisms in Principal–Agent Models [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper shows that, contrary to what is generally believed, decreasing concavity of the agent’s utility function with respect to the screening variable is not sufficient to ensure that stochastic mechanisms are suboptimal.

Combining social, ecological and economic approaches in knowledge co‐production enables the identification of sustainable farming options

open access: yesPeople and Nature, EarlyView.
Abstract Farming systems face an increasing sustainability challenge requiring integrated solutions to minimize the trade‐offs between the social, ecological and economic dimensions of sustainability. Yet, most research remains siloed, limiting interdisciplinary understanding of farming systems as coupled social‐ecological systems (SESs) and precluding

Optimizing the morphology transition on MOVPE-grown (100) β-Ga2O3 film between step-flow growth and step-bunching: A machine learning-assisted approach

open access: yesAPL Materials
The step-bunching instability in (100) β-Ga2O3 films grown via metalorganic vapor phase epitaxy was investigated using a machine learning approach based on Random Forest (RF).

Irrigation using slightly saline water from emerging desalination technologies as a solution to short‐term drought

open access: yesPLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, EarlyView.
With global weather patterns becoming more extreme and unpredictable, sourcing reliable irrigation water is vital for improving food security and conserving drinking water in drought‐prone areas. Emerging desalination technologies, which are still in the development phase, could potentially provide large quantities of slightly saline water for ...
