Absorption to fluctuating bunching states in nonunitary boson dynamics

open access: yesPhysical Review Research
We show that noisy nonunitary dynamics of bosons drives arbitrary initial states into a novel fluctuating bunching state, where all bosons occupy one time-dependent mode.

Data, not documents: Moving beyond theories of information‐seeking behavior to advance data discovery

open access: yesJournal of the Association for Information Science and Technology, Volume 76, Issue 4, Page 649-664, April 2025.
Abstract Many theories of human information behavior (HIB) assume that information objects are in text document format. This paper argues four important HIB theories are insufficient for describing users' search strategies for data because of assumptions about the attributes of objects that users seek.

Nonlinear Interactions Between Radiation Belt Electrons and Chorus Waves: Dependence on Wave Amplitude Modulation

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, 2020
We use test particle simulations to model the interaction between radiation belt electrons and whistler mode chorus waves by focusing on wave amplitude modulations.

Biologic Augmentation With Biocomposite Scaffold in Revision Quadriceps Tendon Repair

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, EarlyView.
Abstract Quadriceps tendon rupture is a relatively uncommon injury, typically occurring in middle‐aged males, and is often associated with systemic comorbidities or trauma. Although primary repair techniques provide excellent outcomes when performed acutely, revision surgery presents unique challenges due to poor tissue quality and compromised ...

Longitudinal painting with large amplitude second harmonic rf voltages in the rapid cycling synchrotron of the Japan Proton Accelerator Research Complex

open access: yesPhysical Review Special Topics. Accelerators and Beams, 2009
In the rapid cycling synchrotron (RCS) of the Japan Proton Accelerator Research Complex (J-PARC), the longitudinal painting is important to alleviate the space-charge effects.

Medial Meniscus Allograft Transplant: Arthroscopic Soft Tissue Technique With Suture Tape Augmentation

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, EarlyView.
Abstract Meniscal allograft transplant (MAT) is gaining popularity for treating meniscus deficiency. Various MAT techniques are described. Bony techniques such as bone plugs and bone slot techniques are considerably more technically challenging but show better reduction of extrusion than all‐soft‐tissue technique.

Life cycle assessment of biodiesel synthesis from waste cooking oil using bifunctional heterogeneous catalyst

open access: yesBiofuels, Bioproducts and Biorefining, EarlyView.
Abstract The development of renewable energy sources is important in order to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Waste cooking oil (WCO) is a promising feedstock for biodiesel production through transesterification. Heterogeneous bifunctional catalysts offer a sustainable alternative to conventional homogeneous bases such ...

Bunching phase and constraints on echo enabled harmonic generation

open access: yesPhysical Review Accelerators and Beams, 2018
A simple mathematical description is developed for the bunching spectrum in echo enabled harmonic generation (EEHG) that incorporates the effect of additional electron beam energy modulations. Under common assumptions, they are shown to contribute purely

Issue Construals and Corporate Water Stewardship

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In the face of mounting environmental and social pressures, the importance of responsible corporate water stewardship (CWS) should be evident, yet not all businesses are taking water management issues seriously. The aim of this study is to explore why differences in CWS persist, especially within industries facing similar resource challenges ...

Beyond Activity: The Unified Framework of the Sabatier Principle to Guide Rational Design of Durable and Active Electrocatalysts

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
In this review, a unified framework of the Sabatier principle is applied to a diverse range of catalytic and electrocatalytic systems for advanced clean energy technologies, with a particular focus on the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). This approach will guide the design and development of highly active and stable catalysts for fuel cells ...
