Diversity of the Early-Miocene Burdigalian) Ostracoda from Northeastern Semnan, Central Iran

Seven genera and seventeen species of marine Ostracoda are reported for the first time from the Attari section (Qom Formation), northeast of the Semnan, Central Iran. In this section, the Qom Formation outcrops with 280 m thickness lies on the Eocene volcanic and under the Upper Red formation.

ABSTRACT This communication includes the description of sixteen species of cheilostome Bryozoa from the lower Miocene (Burdigalian) of Quilon beds of Padappakara, Kerala, India. Four out of these species are newly indexed. They are Skylonia malabarica, Vincularia taylori, Adeonellopsis keralaensis and Stylopoma warkhalensis.

Abstract Two depositional basins were present in the Kirkuk Basin of northeastern Iraq during the Burdigalian and Early Langhian ages (Late Lower–Early Middle Miocene) and have been studied at several oilfields. Both basins display shallowing upward sequences composed of carbonate and evaporite sediments.

Coral bioconstruction in a Burdigalian mixed siliciclastic-carbonate coastal system (Cala Paraguano, Corsica)

This study presents facies analysis and a depositional model of a middle-lower Burdigalian mixed siliciclasticcarbonate system, characterized by coral bioconstructions, cropping out at Cala Paraguano (southern Corsica). Sedimentary facies, tracing stratigraphic surfaces, stratal and bioconstruction geometries were identified along a sea-cliff exposure.

Coral bioconstruction variability in a small basin: the Burdigalian Bonifacio basin (South Corsica).

Coral-rich deposits and coral bioconstructions characterize the mixed carbonate-siliciclastic systems developed in the Bonifacio Basin during the Early Miocene. Accurate mapping on photomosaics allowed to document the internal organization of coral deposits as well as lateral and vertical facies relationships.
