Swedish Consumers' Willingness‐to‐Pay for Plant‐Based Proteins in Pasta Sauce: Preferences and Policy Scenarios

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper explores Swedish consumers' protein preferences by estimating the willingness‐to‐pay (WTP) for minced meat and plant‐based proteins in pasta sauce from an in‐store experiment (n = 206) and an online discrete choice experiment (n = 517). On average, the WTP was highest for minced meat.

Singularities and the distribution of density in the Burgers/adhesion model

open access: yes, 2000
We are interested in the tail behavior of the pdf of mass density within the one and $d$-dimensional Burgers/adhesion model used, e.g., to model the formation of large-scale structures in the Universe after baryon-photon decoupling.

Exploring the Impact of Meat Alternative Labeling Regulations on the U.S. Meat Consumption Patterns

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The global demand for conventional meat continues to rise, but it is also associated with substantial environmental and health challenges. In response, meat alternatives have gained popularity, sparking debates over meat alternative labeling regulations. This study investigates the effects of meat alternative labeling regulations in the United

Ballistic deposition patterns beneath a growing KPZ interface

open access: yes, 2010
We consider a (1+1)-dimensional ballistic deposition process with next-nearest neighbor interaction, which belongs to the KPZ universality class, and introduce for this discrete model a variational formulation similar to that for the randomly forced ...

Post-construction settlement and creep law of waste dumps

open access: yes工程科学学报, 2016
The grain body creep of waste dumps including deceleration creep and constant creep was described by the Burgers model.Using the layered summation method, the vertical filling waste dump was sliced and the bottom part settled under the variable weight ...

Self‐Driving Laboratory Optimizes the Lower Critical Solution Temperature of Thermoresponsive Polymers

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
A low‐cost, self‐driving laboratory is developed to democratize autonomous materials discovery. Using this "frugal twin" hardware architecture with Bayesian optimization, the platform rapidly converges to target lower critical solution temperature (LCST) values while self‐correcting from off‐target experiments, demonstrating an accessible route to data‐

RAMS: Residual‐Based Adversarial‐Gradient Moving Sample Method for Scientific Machine Learning in Solving Partial Differential Equations

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
We propose a residual‐based adversarial‐gradient moving sample (RAMS) method for scientific machine learning that treats samples as trainable variables and updates them to maximize the physics residual, thereby effectively concentrating samples in inadequately learned regions.

Short-Term Creep Experiment of Cement Asphalt Mortar and Its Numerical Simulation

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering, 2016
In order to investigate the creep performance of cement asphalt mortar (CA mortar), the field sampling of CA mortar cylinder samples was produced, and all samples were tested on WDW series electric universal testing machine by using uniaxial static creep
