Effect of Burn Sites (Upper and Lower Body Parts) and Gender on Extensive Burns’ Mortality
Our recent literature survey indicated a lack of clinical assessment of the influence of gender and site of burn injury on the outcome of patients with extensive burns.

Performance Analysis of Abradable Coating Systems for Aircraft Gas Turbines
Three CoNiCrAlY/YSZ/MgAl2O4 abradable liner configurations on a nickel‐superalloy are evaluated by thermal‐gradient cycling and incursion tests. Laser ablation of the bondcoat and/or Y2O3‐stabilized ZrO2 (YSZ) intermediate layer increases mechanical interlocking and bonding for thick topcoats.

Fatigue Crack Initiation and Growth in Nanocrystalline Ni at Multiple Length‐Scales
Overview of miniaturized in situ SEM fatigue setup and resultant fatigue crack growth data for nanocrystalline Ni. The presented study focuses on the analysis of fatigue crack growth rate (FCGR) in focused ion beam‐notched microcantilevers prepared from nanocrystalline (NC) Ni as a model material.

Interval bounds for the optimal burn-in times for concave or convex reward functions [PDF]
An interesting problem in reliability is to determine the optimal burn-in time. In a previous work, the authors studied the solution of such a problem under a particular cost structure.
