A simplified chart for estimating burn areas
The American Journal of Surgery, 1959Abstract A simplified chart is presented which provides an accurate method for estimating the total surface area of a burn. It also provides a useful record and valuable guide for use in the treatment of the burned patient.

Assessment of burn surface area
2019Assessment of total body surface area of a burn injured patient is a crucial step in managing burn injury. The chapter describes a number of techniques from using the size of the patient’s palm as an estimate of 1% to the gold standard Lund and Browder Chart.

The Lancet, 1969
Abstract BALB/c and C3H skin grafts were applied to CBA mice, which had been subjected to full-skin thickness burns of 15-35% total surface area. Observations were also made on the survival of HL-A compatible and incompatible skin grafts in severely burned patients.

An advanced area scaling approach for semiconductor burn-in
Microelectronics Reliability, 2015Abstract In semiconductor manufacturing, early life failures are avoided by putting the produced items under accelerated stress conditions before delivery. The products’ early life failure probability p is assessed by means of a burn-in study, in which a sample of the stressed items is investigated for early failures.

Thresholds of Area Burned and Burn Severity for Downstream Riverine Systems to 'Feel the Burn'
Wildfires impact terrestrial landscapes and downstream river corridors. We assessed the impacts of burn area and burn severity on aquatic responses in hydrologic and biogeochemical parameters post-fire, using the Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) model to simulate streamflow, nitrate, and dissolved organic carbon responses to in two test basins: a ...Katie A Wampler +5 more
