Low acceleration solid propellant rocket ignition study [PDF]

open access: yes
A study was conducted to develop a solid-propellant rocket igniter system that would build up thrust at a controlled rate of less than 0.2 G/sec. The system consisted of a long burning, regressive burning, controlled flow igniter and an inhibited ...

Thermal Processing Creates Water‐Stable PEDOT:PSS Films for Bioelectronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 37, Issue 13, April 2, 2025.
Instead of using chemical cross–linkers, it is shown that PEDOT:PSS thin films for bioelectronics become water‐stable after a simple heat treatment. The heat treatment is compatible with a range of rigid and elastomeric substrates and films are stable in vivo for >20 days.

PBXN-110 Burn Rate Estimate

open access: yes, 2008
It is estimated that PBXN-110 will burn laminarly with a burn function of B = (0.6-1.3)*P{sup 1.0} (B is the burn rate in mm/s and P is pressure in MPa). This paper provides a brief discussion of how this burn behavior was estimated.

SIMULATION OF INITIAL STAGE OF STATIONARY FLAME FIRE IN INDOOR AREAS

open access: yesНаука и техника, 2014
A computer simulation of the initial stage of stationary flame fire in an indoor area has been made with the help of FDS software (version 5). It has been shown that stationary and non-stationary heat release stages are present in a stationary fire ...

Optimal Money Burning: Theory and Application to Corporate Dividend Policy [PDF]

open access: yes
We explore signaling behavior in settings with a discriminating signal and several costly nondiscriminating ( money burning ) activities. In settings where informed parties have many options for burning money, existing theory provides no basis for ...

Unveiling the Role of Curvature in Carbon for Improved Energy Release of Ammonium Perchlorate

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
High‐curvature carbon materials identified via machine learning and simulation can enhance the heat release and combustion performance of ammonium perchlorate. ABSTRACT The catalytic role of carbon curvature in the thermal decomposition of ammonium perchlorate (AP) remains largely unexplored. To address this gap, this study employs machine learning and

Investigation of critical burning of fuel droplets [PDF]

open access: yes
Fuel droplets were simulated by porous spheres having diameters in the range 0.63 to 1.9 cm and combustion tests were conducted at pressures up to 78 atm in a quiescent cold air environment.

Bacteria‐Responsive Nanostructured Drug Delivery Systems for Targeted Antimicrobial Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Bacteria‐responsive nanocarriers are designed to release antimicrobials only in the presence of infection‐specific cues. This selective activation ensures drug release precisely at the site of infection, avoiding premature or indiscriminate release, and enhancing efficacy.
