Impact of Zinc Hydroxychloride and Oxide Nanoparticles on Broiler Chicken Growth, Gut Microbiota, Immunity and Serum Biochemistry

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 11, Issue 2, March 2025.
The current study aimed to compare three levels of zinc (40, 80 and 110 mg/kg of diets) as either ZnOHCl or ZnONPs. It is shown that ZnOHCl supplementation in broilers’ diets up to 110 mg was more efficient than ZnONPs in most responses relevant to immunology, growth performance and meat quality.

Effects of spermine on immune organ indexes and expression levels of genes related to immune factors in geese

open access: yes浙江大学学报. 农业与生命科学版, 2019
To investigate the effects of spermine on goose immune organ indexes and expression levels of genes related to immune factors, the Sichuan adult white geese (female) were intragastrically administered with 5 and 10 mg spermine per kilogram body mass, and

The effects of classic and variant infectious bursal disease viruses on lymphocyte populations in specific-pathogen-free White Leghorn chickens [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Infectious bursal disease virus (IBDV) is a pathogen that primarily infects B lymphocytes in domestic avian species. This viral infection has been associated with immunosuppression, clinical disease/mortality, and enteric malabsorption effects.

The Effects of Shrimp Waste Added to Broiler Diets on Growth Performance, Slaughter and Carcass Characteristics, Intestinal Morphology, Bone Traits, and Fatty Acids in the Meat

open access: yesJournal of Animal Physiology and Animal Nutrition, Volume 109, Issue 2, Page 477-486, March 2025.
ABSTRACT Recycling animal waste is crucial for the circular economy, promoting environmental and sustainability. This study aimed to assess the impact of shrimp waste added to broiler diets on growth performance, slaughter and carcass characteristics, intestinal morphology, bone traits, and fatty acids in the meat.

Integrating gut and IgA‐coated microbiota to identify Blautia as a probiotic for enhancing feed efficiency in chickens

open access: yesiMeta, Volume 4, Issue 1, February 2025.
This study explores the role of IgA‐coated bacteria in improving feed efficiency in chickens, offering a novel perspective for probiotic screening. Chickens with high feed efficiency were found to have a greater abundance of Gram‐positive bacteria, while low feed efficiency chickens exhibited higher levels of Gram‐negative bacteria and potential ...

Studies On Local Isolates Of Infectious Bursal Disease Virus [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
Infectious bursal disease (lBD) is one of the most important viral diseases in chickens. IBD virus ( IBDV) from seven local field outbreaks in layer, broiler and village chickens were isolated, propagated and identified.
