Vision‐Assisted Avocado Harvesting with Aerial Bimanual Manipulation

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This work outlines the design and implementation of a bimanual aerial robot that employs visual perception and learning to detect, reach, and harvest avocados. A new gripper and fixer arm assembly is used to harvest avocados, while visual perception enables the detection of avocados and estimation of their position and orientation for determining ...

Evaluation of the Performance of the Sydney Coordinated Adaptive Traffic System (SCATS) on Powell Boulevard in Portland, OR [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The Sydney Coordinated Adaptive Traffic System (SCATS) is used to mitigate traffic congestion along urban arterial corridors. Although there has been research on SCATS\u27 performance, this report combines three different areas of research about SCATS ...

Improving Bus Travel Times with Passive Traffic Signal Coordination

open access: yesTransportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, 2009
A simulation optimization model is outlined: traffic signal offsets in intersections are calculated to minimize the travel time of bus users in an urban network. The model considers a passive signal priority system and restricts the maximal incremental delay caused to car users.

TBK1 Induces the Formation of Optineurin Filaments That Condensate with Polyubiquitin and LC3 for Cargo Sequestration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Phosphorylation of Optineurin by TBK1 induces the formation of filaments that condensate upon binding to linear polyubiquitin. Membrane‐anchored LC3 partitions into these condensates, suggesting that phase separation of filamentous Optineurin with ubiquitylated cargo promotes the sequestration of cargo and its subsequent alignment with LC3‐positive ...

Bus Operation Monitoring Oriented Public Transit Travel Index System and Calculation Models

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2013
This study proposed a two-dimensional index system which is concerned essentially with urban travel based on travel modes and user satisfaction. First, the public transit was taken as an example to describe the index system establishing process.

A Prediction Model for Bus Arrival Time at Bus Stop Considering Signal Control and Surrounding Traffic Flow

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
The arrival time of bus at the stop is critical data in design of bus operational strategies. Especially for real-time control strategies (i.e., signal priority system), bus arrival time is usually predicted to assess the next bus operation condition in ...

Non‐Volatile Phase Modulation with Ultralow Energy Consumption Enabled by 2D Ferroelectric/TMD Heterostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We demonstrate a hybrid WS2/CuInP2S6/graphene heterostructure integrated on a silicon nitride microring resonator for non‐volatile optical phase modulation with ultra‐low energy consumption and low insertion loss. While CIPS alone does not provide efficient optical index modulation, the engineered proposed device structure converts ferroelctric domain ...

Guidance Optimization of Travelers’ Travel Mode Choice Based on Fuel Tax Rate and Bus Departure Quantity in Two-Mode Transportation System

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Transportation, 2020
This aim of this study is to improve the guidance role of the fuel tax rate and bus departure quantity on travel mode choice. Car and bus travel are chosen as the research object, and a day-to-day evolution model of dual-mode network traffic flow (based ...
