Thermodynamic functions for the systems 1-butanol, 2-butanol, andt-butanol + cyclohexane

Journal of Solution Chemistry, 1983
The following properties of mixtures of the butanols with cyclohexane were measured over the whole range of composition: 1-butanol+cyclohexane and 2-butanol+cyclohexane; excess enthalpies at 15, 25, 35 and 45°C, excess volumes at 25 and 45°C, activity coefficients and excess Gibbs free energies at 45°C.

Catalytic Oxidative Dehydration of Butanol Isomers: 1-Butanol, 2-Butanol, and Isobutanol

2011
Abstract : The catalytic production of economically important four-carbon olefins was achieved through catalytic oxidative dehydration of 1-butanol, 2-butanol, and isobutanol using a millisecond contact time reactor. Both alumina foam and rhodium-alumina foam catalysts convert these four-carbon alcohols into four-carbon olefins, with contact time equal

Butanol production from lignocellulosics

Biotechnology Letters, 2012
Clostridium spp. produce n-butanol in the acetone/butanol/ethanol process. For sustainable industrial scale butanol production, a number of obstacles need to be addressed including choice of feedstock, the low product yield, toxicity to production strain, multiple-end products and downstream processing of alcohol mixtures. This review describes the use

(Liquid + liquid) equilibrium of {water + phenol + (1-butanol, or 2-butanol, or tert-butanol)} systems

The Journal of Chemical Thermodynamics, 2010
Abstract (Liquid + liquid) equilibrium (LLE) and binodal curve data were determined for the systems (water + phenol + tert-butanol) at T = 298.15 K, (water + phenol + 2-butanol) and (water + phenol + 1-butanol) at T = 298.15 K and T = 313.15 K by the combined techniques of densimetry and refractometry.
