WIDEBAND X-BAND MICROSTRIP BUTLER MATRIX [PDF]
This paper presents the design of a wideband X-band microstrip 4×4Butler matrix. The wideband performance of the Butler matrix means that it possesses equal coupling and difference of phases throughout the operating band. Design of the wideband components such as 3-branch branch line hybrid, crossover and Schiffman line phase shifter are presented in ...

BUTLER MATRIX IN MICROSTRIP-SLOT TECHNOLOGY
The design of a 4 x 4 Butler Matrix for use in a multi-beam antenna array operating over wide frequency band is presented. In order to achieve wideband characteristics, the matrix uses microstrip-slot technology that employs two microstrip dielectric layers with a common ground plane and a coupling slot.

Broadband Butler Matrices with the Use of High-Pass LC Sections as Left-Handed Transmission Lines [PDF]
An application of left-handed transmission line sections in Butler matrices has been investigated. It has been shown, for the first time, that the utilization of both left-handed and right-handed transmission lines allows for broadband differential phase
