Polymorphism of Butyrophenones Related to Haloperidol

Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1984
A comparison of X-ray powder diffraction patterns, IR spectra, and crystal structures of structurally related compounds belonging to the butyrophenone family has been undertaken to obtain information about the elements of chemical structure which predispose a substance to exhibit polymorphism.

TRIFLUPERIDOL: A BUTYROPHENONE DERIVATIVE

American Journal of Psychiatry, 1963
Under double-blind conditions, the effects of trifluperidol, one of the butyrophenone derivatives, were contrasted with the effects of chlorpromazine in each of 2 groups of 18 chronic schizophrenics who had received no medications for at least 60 days.

Phenothiazine and Butyrophenone Intoxication in Children

Pediatric Clinics of North America, 1986
Antipsychotic agents are widely used for the treatment of psychotic disorders as well as for the acute treatment of nausea and vomiting, cough and cold treatments, and as supplementary agents for sedation for minor surgical or diagnostic procedures. There are many different circumstances in which the clinician may encounter a child who has experienced ...

Butyrophenone influences on the opiate receptor

European Journal of Pharmacology, 1976
Interaction of neuroleptic drugs with the opiate receptors was investigated by inhibition of the stereospecific binding of 3H-naloxone. Benperidol and pimozide, with IC50's of 0.3-0.5 muM, were more potent than the classical opiates meperidine and propoxyphene.

Anodic voltammetry of butyrophenone neuroleptics

The Analyst, 1984
Example drugs have been examined at platinum and gold rotating disc electrodes in 0.1 mol l–1 sulphuric acid, and for spiperone over the pH range 0–7. Aceperone and haloperidol show neither anodic nor cathodic activity. Benperidol and droperidol are anodically active, but the voltammograms do not obey the Levich relationship, and adsorption destroys ...
