Distribution of Buxbaumia viridis (Moug. ex Lam. et DC.) Brid. ex Moug. et Nestl. (Bryophyta) in Montenegro [PDF]
Abstract - The present paper is a contribution to the knowledge of the distribution of the moss species Buxbaumia viridis in Montenegro. The records are from 14 known sites at elevations over 1300 m a.s.l. in the northern and north-eastern parts of the country.

The cuticle of the Buxbaumia viridis sporophyte
Flora - Morphology, Distribution, Functional Ecology of Plants, 2009The sporophytes of Buxbaumia viridis are covered with a cuticle-like skin, which is peeling off when the capsules are ripe. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis showed that the supposed peeling of the cuticle of ripe capsules is not restricted to the cuticle, but to the complete epidermis.

Notes on the Herbivory on Buxbaumia viridis Sporophytes in the Pyrenees
Cryptogamie, Bryologie, 2018Buxbaumia viridis is a bryophyte whose gametophyte is highly reduced, while its sporophyte is relatively large, present all year round in its different phenological stages. In the Pyrenees, where the species is present in humid forests, especially pure Abies alba or mixed A.

How much data is needed to be threatened – the case of Buxbaumia viridis in Bulgaria
HerzogiaBuxbuamia viridis is a moss of European conservation concern. It is included in the Habitats Directive and the state of its populations and habitats is subject to regular monitoring. In Bulgaria, it was Red-listed as Near Threatened. The intensive study of the distribution and ecology of the species since the establishment of the Natura 2000 network in

AbstractBuxbaumia viridis is a rare policy species restricted to decaying woods in forests. Although Member States of EU are required to monitor its conservation status, specific models able to predict species distribution are still lacking. However, the availability of such models would strongly improve the efficiency in collection additional data and

Kennzeichnend
