Ligand Mediated Metal Cations Exchanges within Metallo‐Dynameric Solid Films

open access: yesChemistryOpen, 2019
Dynameric solid films may be generated via the adequate imine‐bond connection between bis(pyridine‐2,6‐diimine) core centres, coordinated with different metal cations and diaminoPEG connectors.

Three phosphatase families form a community: The phosphohydrolases that act upon inositol pyrophosphates

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.

Modelling stem cell differentiation related processes—A practical overview for biologists

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Stem cell differentiation is complex and difficult to control experimentally. This review introduces suitable computational modelling approaches that can support stem cell research, from mechanistic ODE and abstract models to multiscale and deep learning methods.

ABL kinase‐dependent phosphorylation of SH proteins promotes their direct interaction with CRK family SH2 domains

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.

Adsorption Studies of Metal Cations on a Silica Static Flat Bed Using Anionic Micellar Mobile-Phase Systems Containing Carboxylic Acids: Separation of Co-Existing Iron(III), Copper(II) and Nickel(II) Cations

open access: yesAdsorption Science & Technology, 2004
Silica gel was used as a stationary phase in combination with an acidic surfactant containing eluents for the thin-layer chromatography (TLC) of 10 metal cations.

Identification of a Shiga toxin A‐derived peptide internalized into Gb3 receptor‐bearing cells via interaction with the Shiga toxin B subunit

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The process of internalization of the Shiga toxin A subunit via formation of a complex with the Shiga toxin B subunit, which specifically binds to the Gb3 receptor. The peptide is designed to act as a carrier of drugs into cancer cells. Here, we explored the potential of peptides derived from the catalytic A subunit of Shiga toxin (STxA) to be drug ...

AscF in the mycobacterial CIII–CIV supercomplex lacks metal and nucleotide binding but links malate oxidation to respiration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The mycobacterial CIII‐CIV respiratory supercomplex is an obligate assembly, encompassing several subunits of unknown functions. We have characterized the intracellular subunit AscF, and show that it is unlikely to be a sensor for metals or nucleotides, but is required for growth on nonfermentable energy sources, and likely works as an adapter for ...

Selective adsorption of ions in charged slit-systems

open access: yesCondensed Matter Physics, 2013
We study the selective adsorption of various cations into a layered slit system using grand canonical Monte Carlo simulations. The slit system is formed by a series of negatively charged membranes.

The aluminoarsenate Na1.67K1.33Al3(AsO4)4

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E, 2014
The title compound, sodium potassium trialuminium tetrakis(orthoarsenate), was prepared by solid-state reactions. The anionic framework consists of corrugated layers parallel to (010) and is made up of corner-sharing AlO6 octahedra (site symmetries .2 ...
