Electrostatically‐Stabilized PEG‐Free Lipid Nanoparticles for Systemic Nucleic Acid Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work describes non‐PEGylated layered lipid nanoparticles (nonPEG LLNPs), a gene delivery platform that improves upon standard PEGylated LNPs via electrostatic adsorption of charged polymers. nonPEG LLNPs maintain colloidal stability under biological stresses, enhance circulation time, and mitigate accelerated blood clearance and hepatic ...

Bio‐Inspired Biopolymeric Implantable Platform for Localized and Sustained Drug Delivery in Solid Tumor Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A bio‐inspired biopolymeric implantable drug delivery platform enables localized and sustained release of 7‐ethyl‐10‐hydroxycamptothecin (SN‐38) in solid tumor treatment. The three‐dimensional (3D) structured crosslinked‐chitosan implants are fabricated via 3D‐printed molds and provide drug release over 3 months, significantly inhibiting tumor growth ...

Gardiquimod Nanoemulsion Targets Cutaneous Leishmaniasis Lesions Reducing Systemic Toxicity and Parasite Burden

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Nanoemulsion delivery of a TLR7 agonist enhances safety and promotes colocalization with Leishmania‐infected macrophages in skin lesions, enabling a ∼2‐log reduction in parasite burden. However, tissue‐level constraints and TLR‐driven regulatory feedback generate a mixed immune response that limits complete parasite clearance.

Investigating the association of chemokine receptor 5 (CCR5) polymorphism with cervical cancer in human papillomavirus (HPV) positive patients = Investigação da associação do polimorfismo do receptor de quimiocinas CCR5 com câncer cervical em pacientes HPV positivos

open access: yesActa Scientiarum. Health Sciences, 2008
HPV is one of the most frequent causes for the development of cervicalcancer. It is known that chemokines are important determinants of early inflammatory responses.
