Effects of carprofen administered by different routes to control experimental uveitis in dogs Efeitos do carprofeno, aplicado por diferentes vias, no controle de uveítes experimentais em cães

open access: yesArquivo Brasileiro de Medicina Veterinária e Zootecnia, 2010
Efficacy of carprofen, administered by different routes, was studied in experimental uveitis in dogs. Anterior chamber paracenteses was accomplished at two different moments (M0 and M1), with a five hour interval between them.

Nucleation‐Controlled Reconstruction of CuOx for Selective CO2 Electroreduction

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The ratio of oxygen vacancies (Ov) and exposed Cu2O (111)/(200) of CuOx precatalyst is modulated by nucleation control of Cu(OH)2 precursor. Low Ov ratio and high ratio of Cu2O (111)/(200) in slow‐nucleated CuOx reconstructs to high‐coordinated oxide‐derived copper (OD‐Cu) during electrochemical CO2 reduction reaction (CO2RR) and exhibits enhanced ...

Electrocatalytic Reduction of CO2 to Ethylene: Catalyst Design and Synchrotron‐Based Characterizations

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review evaluates strategies for electrochemical CO2 reduction to ethylene, focusing on copper‐based catalyst design and microenvironment modulation to achieve industrial‐grade performance. By leveraging operando synchrotron‐based characterizations, we provide a multiscale understanding of dynamic structural transformations and key reaction ...

Early identification of arrhythmias in dogs showing doxorubicin-induced cardiomyopathy was studied. Ten healthy dogs were assigned to groups A (n=5) and B (n=5).

An Engineered Living Material With Pro‐Angiogenic Activity Inducible by Near‐Infrared Light

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
NIR‐responsive engineered living materials (ELMs) for controlled angiogenesis: Near‐infrared (800 nm) light activates engineered probiotic bacteria within alginate‐based living materials to secrete a blood vessel‐regenerating protein. The released protein promotes pro‐angiogenic effects in endothelial networks and chick chorioallantoic membranes.

Figuras do animal: literatura, cinema, banda desenhada [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Desde os primórdios da criação estética, cuja cena primitiva se localiza em grutas pré-históricas, o imaginário humano incorporou, como seria de esperar, nas suas diversas modalidades e sob pontos de vista múltiplos, a condição animal.

Infusible Extracellular Matrix Biomaterial Enhances Cell‐Specific Pro‐Repair Responses Following Acute Myocardial Infarction

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We measure the cell‐specific responses of administering infusible ECM (iECM) in acute myocardial infarction (MI) across multiple timepoints. Using single‐nucleus RNA sequencing and spatial transcriptomics, we measure macrophage activation, fibroblast remodeling, increased vascular development, lymphangiogenesis, cardioprotection, and neurogenesis ...

SiO2‐CaOCME/Poly(Tetrahydrofuran)/Poly(Caprolactone) 3D‐Printed Scaffolds Drive Human‐Bone Marrow Stromal Cell Osteogenic Differentiation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
3D printed hybrid scaffolds combining bioactive silica–calcium chemistry with elastic polymers guide human bone stem cells to form bone. The scaffolds support cell survival, organization, and invasion while releasing osteogenic ions. Together, architecture and composition drive bone‐specific gene expression, extracellular matrix organization, and ...
