Coexistence Demonstration and Wavelength Dependency Analysis of S-Band CV-QKD Signal with Fully Loaded C+L-Band DWDM Signals

open access: yesEntropy
We demonstrated the coexistence of an S-band CV-QKD signal with fully loaded C+L-band classical signals for the first time. The secret key rate of the S-band QKD system was 986 kbps with the C+L-band WDM signals transmitted through a 20 km G.654.E fiber ...

Rain footprints on C-band synthetic aperture radar images of the ocean - Revisited

open access: yes, 2016
It is well known that rain leaves footprints on the sea surface that sometimes become visible on synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images. Rain cells can easily be detected on SAR images at all radar frequencies when they are associated with a downdraft ...

Monitoring of circulating tumor DNA allows early detection of disease relapse in patients with operable breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Monitoring circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in patients with operable breast cancer can reveal disease relapse earlier than radiology in a subset of patients. The failure to detect ctDNA in some patients with recurrent disease suggests that ctDNA could serve as a supplement to other monitoring approaches.

ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...

A Tunable Microstrip Planar Antenna using Truncated Ground Plane for WiFi/LTE2500/WiMAX/5G/C, Ku, K-Band Wireless Applications

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Engineering and Applied Sciences, 2019
Reconfigurable antennas are key candidates for modern wireless communicating devices to perform multiple wireless operations on various frequencies. This paper is introducing a compact yet efficient design of frequency reconfigurable TX-Shaped monopole ...

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

Impact of Si nanocrystals in a-SiOx in C-Band emission for applications in resonators structures

open access: yes, 2008
Si nanocrystals (Si-NC) in a-SiOx were created by high temperature annealing. Si-NC samples have large emission in a broadband region, 700nm to 1000nm.

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Transient quantum evolution of 2D electrons under photoexcitation of a deep center

open access: yes, 2007
We have considered the ballistic propagation of the 2D electron Wigner distribution, which is excited by an ultrashort optical pulse from a short-range impurity into the first quantized subband of a selectively-doped heterostructure with high mobility ...
